From the Space Station to your head...You can now wear a real space artifact! Attached to each of our exclusive "Flown in Space" caps is a square of parachute that flew as a component of the Soyuz TMA-4 descent module. Launched April 19, 2004 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome, TMA-4 delivered the Expedition 9 crew (American astronaut Mike Fincke and Russian cosmonaut Gennadi Padalka) and ESA astronaut Andre Kuipers to the International Space Station. More than six months later, this swatch - along with Fincke, Padalka and Russian cosmonaut Yuri Shargin - returned to Earth, in large part due to the successful deployment of the main landing parachute. Certified by Alexander Poleschuk, former cosmonaut and head of Soyuz recovery operations for RSC Energia. Each cap ships with an authentically signed certificate of authenticity.
